Agile approaches to developing software are allowing organizations to do IT projects quicker, better, yet at lower costs. Agile project management is different from traditional project management in some basic ways- requirements management, planning, estimation, and tracking. It uses different tools and techniques. Since Agile uses time-boxed short development cycle, planning becomes a prioritization exercises. Requirements are captured in "User Story" format. Defining user stories effectively is important for Agile/Scrum project success. In this seminar, we will first discuss Agile/Scrum process and compare and contrast it with traditional project management. Then we will do a deep dive into various techniques for planning, estimation and some matrices for tracking. We will end the seminar with a detailed look at how to capture requirements using user stories. We will elaborate some of the techniques using appropriate exercises through out the session.
